Drops of Youth Essence-Lotion.

I have been itching to review this for quite some time now. When I first explored the Drops of Youth collection by The Body Shop (way back in February) I was really overwhelmed with which product to try first – they all sounded amazing. After deciding that I like gel-like skincare products I decided to opt for the Essence-Lotion, which is a gel-to-water based formula which infuses stem cells from three different plants to give you younger fresher skin. It uses Edelweiss from the Italian Alps to protect, Sea Holly and Criste Marine to renew and restructure from the Brittany Coast.

I think this concept is quite unique and I love to use plant based products. The idea behind this concept is that stem cells are the ‘renewal engine’ of a plant to keep it thriving, so by infusing it into a skincare product our skin will be refreshed and renewed. I particularly like that the plant stem cells are “sustainably extracted through a biotechnological process” to “preserve their potency while respecting the plant.”

I like to apply this in a morning after I have cleansed. I put a few drops on a clean cotton pad and apply to one side of my face, then I repeat with another clean cotton pad onto the other side of the face. I tend to avoid the eye/under eye area purely to apply an eye cream. I absolutely love how refreshing this is on the skin – I’d literally love to bathe my face in it on a hot day. It is incredibly revitalising first thing in a morning – your sin feels refreshed and clean.

The gel like formula doesn’t feel oily or greasy at all, which I was initially worried about when I very first tried this. This absorbs so nicely into the skin and you can really take your time working it into your pores. It also smells gorgeous, very floral obviously with clean citrus notes of lemon.

I am excited to try more of the Drops of Youth collection! You can shop it here.

The Body Shop Festive Fruit Trio.

Everyone has been raving about The Body Shop’s Frosted Plum Shower Gel so I took a special trip in there just to smell it – and then ended up purchasing it. They currently have an amazing offer on their shower gels. 1 is £4.00 or you can get 4 for £11 so I went for this offer and gave my friend the fourth one. These all smell absolutely incredible and I want to buy more from the seasonal range when I am next in store – particularly the sugar scrubs.

These shower gels lather up amazingly using only a small amount on your loofer/sponge.  They are soft on the skin, soap-free and leave your body smelling deliciously fruity for hours. I highly recommend these and I am considering trying out their non-seasonal range of shower gels in the future.

FROSTED CRANBERRY
From the Forests of North America

This one has turned out to be my favourite and it is also the scent I gave my friend who loves it also. This to me smells like Christmas in a bottle with notes of fresh cranberry and pomegranate.  It also contains Community Fair Trade honey extract from Ethiopia. I am saving this one for very last and I am considering stocking-up early for the next few months!

GLAZED APPLE
From the Italian Alps

This one is my boyfriends favourite with the fruity scent of green apple from Italy, candy-like notes and vanilla. Like the Cranberry one, it also contains Community Fair Trade honey extract from Ethiopia. I personally think this smells like sour apple bubblegum! I am currently using this one (boyfriend chose!) but I think it is my least favourite scent of the three.

FROSTED PLUM
From the orchards of Turkey

This smells so deliciously elegant and fruity-floral with notes of magnolia, peony and plum. It contains plum extracts from Turkey. It also contains Community Fair Trade sugar from Paraguay. I personally think this smells like blackcurrant Starbursts! This is probably my second favourite scent out of all three and I cannot wait to use this next!
